Al-Ahly Snatches the Club World Cup Bronze Medal

Al-Ahly of Egypt snatched the bronze medal from Japan’s Urawa Dynamos after defeating them today, Friday, 4/2, for the third-place match.
Al-Ahly took an early lead in the 19th minute with a goal by Yasser Ibrahim, and five minutes later Percy Tau increased the score for Al-Ahly with a second goal, and before entering the break, the Japanese team reduced the score through Kante in the 43rd minute.
At the beginning of the second half, Urawa equalized the score from the penalty spot by Alexander Schulz, then Al-Ahly took the lead again with a third own goal before Maaloul dashed the Japanese hopes with a fourth goal after missing a penalty kick in the 75th minute.
This is the fourth time that Al-Ahly of Cairo has achieved third place in the Club World Cup, after winning the bronze medal in 2006 – 2020 – 2021.
