The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced the classification of clubs belonging to each continent, which will determine the teams participating in the 2025 Club World Cup.
Thirty-two teams will compete for the first tournament of the new edition of the Club World Cup in 2025, which will be held in the United States of America, instead of 7 teams in the system concluded recently.
The Club World Cup, in its new form, will be held every four years, with the start taking place in America during the period between June 15 and July 13, 2025.
According to FIFA, clubs can reserve their place in the 2025 Club World Cup in one of two ways, the first of which is by winning the Champions League championship during the period from 2021 to 2024.
While the second method depends on the classification of clubs on six continents, where points are gained through results and progress in that competition.
The classification is calculated by awarding 3 points to the team if it wins, 1 point if it draws, and 3 points for passing the group stage and knockout stages in the Champions League in the continent to which it belongs.
FIFA approved the continental seats for the 2025 Club World Cup as follows:
12 teams from Europe
6 teams from South America
4 teams from CONCACAF
4 teams from Africa
4 teams from Asia
One team from Oceania
Plus, the representative of the host country.
