Russian Child Defeats A master in FIDE

Eight-year-old Russian boy Roman Shugayev defeated 28-year-old Uzbek master Jakungir Vakidov in the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship.
The match ended at the 46th move, with Shugiev defeating the Uzbek master in the first round of the World Championship, according to what was reported by the correspondent of the Russian “Linta.ru” website.
Shugaev won the world championship among chess players under the age of eight in October this year, and Vakidov, 28, is the World Chess Olympiad champion.
In another match of the tournament, Russian master Ian Nepomnyatchi ended the confrontation in a draw with 15-year-old Kazakh chess player Ernur Amangelda.
The World Speed and Blitz Championship will be held in Samarkand from December 26 to 30, and the total prize money for the tournament is $600,000.
In November, the FIDE extended permission for Russian and Belarusian chess players to compete under the organization’s flag in a neutral status, which will continue until January 1, 2025.
