Burhan Addresses the Nation

Khartoum – Sudan Events

Port Sudan: 12-31-2023

The President of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has praised the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and other regular forces in defeating the Rapid Support Militia rebellion. In his statement marking the anniversary of the Sudan National Day, Gen Burhan commended the strong stance of the Sudanese people alongside their national army in its battle of dignity. He stressed that this stance is a further impetus for the army to exert further effort for uprooting terrorist groups.
In the address marking the sixty-eighth anniversary of Sudan’s independence, Burhan renewed assurances that victory was imminent and that the Sudan would freed from the hands of traitors and mercenaries.

Below is unofficial translation of the text of his speech:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, and may blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, our Master Muhammad, and upon his Family and Honorable Companions.
Proud Sudanese people! As today is the anniversary of the independence of our beloved homeland, the hearts and souls of the sons and daughters of Sudan have been impacted by the hands of treachery and betrayal, replacing their security with fear and their peace with panic and displacement. These sinful hands have affected the honour, the money and the souls in all parts of Sudan.
We are going through this anniversary, while the militia and mercenaries of Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo continue to destroy the country’s infrastructure, kill civilians, plunder their properties, invade their homes, violate their honour, evict them from their villages and home towns, and exterminate and commit ethnic cleansing against some of them with the support of some traitors to the people and seekers of power, and with the support of some countries of the region and the world under false claims. But their intentions are known to u and the goals, despite the fact that these forces have been proven to have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, according to the testimony of countries around the world and international organizations, therefore, I am sending a message to the countries that receive these killers to stop interfering in our affairs, because any assistance provided to the leadership of the rebel group are considered a partnership in the crime and a partnership in killing the people of Sudan, and its destruction. Receiving any one who is hostile to the Sudan, a anyone who does not recognize the existing government is considered, is but a clear hostility to the Sudanese nation. And the Sudan has the right the right to take measures that preserve its sovereignty and security.

Honorable citizens
I salute you as you all stand up to support your army and support the truth. Your stance and support of the armed forces is the fuel and supplies to eliminate these terrorist groups. We promise you that together we will be victorious and we will crush these traitors and liberate Sudan from the hands of double agents and mercenaries.

Dear citizens
There have been many calls for ceasefire, negotiations, and searching for ways and paths to end the war. We say that there is only one way to stop the war, which is withdrawal of the rebel militia from the state of Gezira and from the rest of the cities of Sudan, as was agreed upon in the Jeddah Declaration, as well as the return of all looted capitals and property of citizens and government vehicles, the eviction from citizens’ homes and government institutions. Any ceasefire that does not guarantee the above-mentioned questions, will be of no value, as the Sudanese people will not accept to live among these murderers and criminals, and those who supported them.
We praise and acknowledge the efforts of Sudan’s brothers, some of its neighbors, and the honest regional and international organizations that work with us for peace. As I send a reminder to them that the road map for peace must include the aforementioned requirements, however, the kind of peace that is incomplete or takes away the dignity and will of the Sudanese people will not be acceptable. The people have spoken and joined the ranks of the resistance to defeat this aggression.
Salute to the officers, non-commissioned officers and privates of the armed forces, soldiers of the regular services, the General Intelligence Service and the police. Salute to the young men and women and sons of the Sudanese people, who lined up in one trench with their armed forces and who organized into the Popular Resistance Brigades.
Salute to the workers of the state and its various institutions as they perform their duty with impartiality and selflessness. Salute to the ancestors who created independence.
Long live the people of Sudan, free and independent. May pradise and eternal bliss be granted to our righteous martyrs, and may disgrace fall on the traitors and rebels.
If God helps you, no one can defeat you
Victory is coming, and soon we will celebrate true independence after eliminating these terrorist groups.
May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you
