About 50,000 Wheat Fedans, Cultivated

The Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in the Northern State has revealed that a total of 49,257 fedans have been cultivated with wheat, out of the targeted area of (159,089) fedans, while the total prepared area stands at (85,075) fedans. The Ministry also announced the cultivation of (55,669) fedans with Egyptian beans, of which the targeted area is (68,663) fedans.

The Minister of Production and Economic Resources in the North, Hussein Abdul Ghafour, confirmed in press statements that the current winter season’s cultivation operations were going well despite the current circumstances.

He pointed out that the farmers had benefited from the agricultural potentials and inputs provided by the Ministry. He added that the World Food Program (WFP) has, with funding from the African Development Bank, within the framework of the emergency project to enhance wheat production in Sudan, provided large quantities of seeds, fertilizers, and urea, and they were distributed to small-scale farmers
