The Higher Committee for Emergency and Crisis Management in Khartoum State directed the State Water Corporation to redouble its efforts to expedite the supply of purification materials, and until they arrive, the committee meeting decided to implement urgent treatments by operating wells that have stopped working and using tanks to provide water in areas suffering from drinking water shortage.
The meeting reviewed on Wednesday the implementation of the directives to remove negative phenomena and practices along Al-Wadi Street and its extension to the northern countryside, and it was decided to continue until the negative phenomena are completely removed.
A report by the Ministry of Health for the rapid response to confront disasters and epidemics showed that the region is free of epidemic diseases (malaria, dengue fever, cholera) by virtue of preventive health campaigns, which included spraying, transporting waste, and monitoring the health and safety of drinking water.
The report confirmed the continuation of emergency services and operations in hospitals and health centers and regular referrals to other states, in addition to the operation of (10) dialysis centers that provide services to more than 1000 patients. As for the drug supply, the stock is sufficient for two months. The Ministry of Health also announced the completion of work in a number of new medical treatment institutions as part of the increase in treatment facilities after a number of hospitals went out of service, where the rehabilitation of Al-Buluk Pediatric Hospital was completed, the Sahafiyeen City Health Center was completed, the rehabilitation of Gezira Eslang Hospital was completed, and the rehabilitation of Al-Naw emergency and Aboudah Hospital will begin in the coming days.
