Sudanese groups Reject Addis Meetings Outcomes

Sudan Events/ Follow-ups

It has been reported by several media and political platforms that a number of Sudanese political, social and native grouping have rejected the meeting and the outcome of the Taggadum encounter in Addis Ababa.
Nine civil forces in eastern Sudan have described the outcomes of the coordination meetings by the civil democratic forces (Taqaddum) and the leadership of the Rapid Support Militia (RSF) in Addis Ababa recently, as a repetition of what was performed during the preparations for the framework agreement, which was an effort to seek share power in whatever forms.
The entities said in a press statement that, the said meeting was seeking to market what was considered a (political solution) after the war failed to impose by force.
The signatories confirmed that they were part of (Taqaddum) and the leader of the militia, and that they do not have any delegate, representative or envoy within the formation of (Taqaddum) and are not members of it.
They stressed their rejection for the campaign entitled stop the war, and pointed out that none of the parties involved in the war announced that they were targeting the Sudanese people, but the reality of the situation confirms that the militia committed genocide, killed defenseless civilians, raped women, and practiced the systematic looting of cars and belongings.
The entities said they considered that any agreement that fail to address the basic issues of the Sudanese state, and does not recognize the principle of accountability for anyone who has committed crimes against the Sudanese people, and which fail to make the army return to its initial job, and fails to dissolve the militias with their various names and components, including the RSF, and does not restore the rights of the Sudanese people and achieve their aspirations for freedom, peace, and justice “ will remain an imposed superficial solution that postpones confrontation and paves the way for future wars.”
They said that this war confirmed the validity and need to withdraw all military formations out of Sudanese political arena and the need to give the civilian forces room to implement clear vision for resolving crises.
It is to be recalled that the statement was signed by: Eastern Sudan Revolutionists Association, Gadarif Redemption Initiative, Alliance of Political and Civil Forces and Resistance Committees in Eastern Sudan, Kasala Civil Forces, Kasala Peace Organization, Gender Equality Network/Kasala, Sudanese Graduates Coordination/Red Sea, Watan Organization for Civil Rights and Development/ Red Sea and the central Committee of graduates – Beja Conference / Kasala).
