Agar: Apology From Heading Popular Committee

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Malik Aqar Air, head of the Sudan People’s Movement North “Revolutionary Front”, issued a statement on Sunday in which he excused himself from heading the popular entity that was announced last Friday.
Agar hinted that given his position and current job, which means multiple preoccupations and engagements as Vice-President of the Sovereign Council and President of the Popular Movement, he would not be able to do a top notch job with the new nomination. However, he promised to continue supporting and providing impetus for the project.
For his part, Jamal Anqara, the entity’s General Coordinator, explained that Agar’s excuse for the presidency has objective and acceptable reasons, especially since he is in charge of the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue dossier and the political movement, and this requires balanced and equal distance vis some vis all. He added that they are betting on Agar not only through his sovereign position, but also for his national leadership personality, and his clear vision for ruling Sudan, which made him a national symbol that all the people of Sudan, with their various political and non-political affiliations and orientations, look at as a national symbol.
