New Qatari Assistance to War-affected Civilians

With funding from the Qatar Fund for Development, Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Sada, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan, and Dr. Salah Al-Mubarak, Federal Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, as well as members of the Qatari Embassy in Port Sudan, on Sunday delivered new shipment of food aid to Kasala, the Northern, and the Red Sea states, as part of a project aimed at providing (50,000) food baskets to families affected by the war and the displaced in Sudan.
The Qatari Ambassador affirmed that the State of Qatar will continue its humanitarian efforts aimed at helping Sudanese people affected by the war.
He referred to a package of Qatari aid to affected families on more than one level, praising the ongoing relief interventions of the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity since the beginning of the war, and said that the State of Qatar’s support for Sudanese people will continue during the next stage because this is at the core of its humanitarian duty.
The Federal Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Dr.Salah Al-Mubarak expressed appreciation of the Government of Sudan for the continuous response from the State of Qatar, the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity to help those affected by the war in the various states of Sudan.
He said that their recent intervention by providing (8,000) food baskets to the displaced and affected people is of great importance, particularly after the displacement due to the recent developments in the city of Wad Medani and the increasing need for food aid for affected families, commending their stance in all the difficult circumstances they are going through.
The shipments of essential food supplies, which were inaugurated in the presence of the Ambassador were directed to the affected, displaced, and most vulnerable groups in new states, where (4,000) baskets were allocated to the Northern State, (2,000) baskets to Kassala State, and (2,000) food baskets to the Red Sea State, each consisting of one food basket containing (40) kilograms of essential foodstuffs sufficient for a family of (6) persons for an entire month.
The total number of beneficiaries of the food aid shipments directed to affected families in Kasala, the Northern and the Red Sea states is (48,000) , while the total number of beneficiaries of the project for provide (50) thousand baskets, which was financed by the Qatar Fund for Development and implemented by Qatar Charity for the benefit of affected families in Sudan, is (300,000) ) beneficiaries.
