Sesame Prices Rising again
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The head of the Sudanese Farmers’ Association- the rain-fed sector, Yasser Al-Saab, revealed that sesame prices have risen again after the decline that occurred due to the fall of the city of Medani in Gezira State into the hands of the Rapid Support Militia (RSF) in mid-December 2023.
Yasser Al-Saab said in statements to (Sudan Events) that prices were affected by Medani events, as the price of a quintal decreased to 60 thousand pounds, while the price has now risen to 70 thousand pounds per quintal.
Al-Saab denied closing the crop market for security reasons in the context of Gadarif State’s expectations of an incursion by the RSF Militia.
