The Fruit and Vegetable Canning Factory with its cream production department will resume next week in manufacturing and canning tomatoes and lines for producing natural juices and jams, following several years stoppage, in partnership with the owner of the factory, Al-Qahtani Saudi Investment Group (87%) and the Northern Government (13%).
The Acting Minister of Industry and Investment in the Northern State, Omer Ali Saleh, reassured the arrangements for opening the factory next Sunday, in honor of the Acting Governor of the Northern State, Abdeen Awadallah, and a number of officials.
The minister held a joint meeting with the factory management and the Merowe locality.
In press statements (Monday) the minister pointed out that the opening of the fruit and vegetable canning factory represents a real addition and a qualitative transfer to the development, renaissance and promotion of the industrial sector in the state, which contributes to moving the wheel of the economy and encouraging investors to enter into investment projects.
He emphasized the northern government’s keenness and interest to create appropriate conditions for national and foreign investments in light of the current circumstances that the country is going through and the security and stability that the state enjoys.
For his part, the General Director of the Karima Fruit and Vegetable Canning Factory, Eng. Mohammed Mahjoub, welcomed the return of the Karima Factory to operation, stating, “The factory will operate with efficiency and high quality with the latest manufacturing machines and laboratories for matching and quality of products in partnership with the Mourouj Investment and Food Industries Group.”
