Al-Damer – Sudan Events
Today (Monday), the Governor of the River Nile State, Mohamed El-Badawi Abdul-Majed, issued emergency order No. 2/2024 banning all resistance committees and freedom and change coordination in the state.
The decision imposed penalties on anyone who violates the provisions of the order through incitement, publication, or non-implementation, which include imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or a fine in an amount not exceeding one million Sudanese pounds, with the penalty doubled in the event of a repeat violation.
The decision was issued pursuant to Emergency Order No. 1/2023, read with Article (9) of the Decentralized Governance Act, 2020.
