Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The governor of White Nile State, Omar Al-Khalifa Abdullah, directed the provision of sufficient fuel to the Umm Dabaker thermal power station so that it returns to service and covers the state’s needs of electricity.
During his meeting (Wednesday) with the White Nile State Electricity Department in Kosti, which included generation, transmission and distribution companies, Abdul Basset Jaafar Ibrahim, Director of the General Administration of Transport and Petroleum in the state and a representative of the Military Intelligence Department, the governor heard about the obstacles facing the stability of the electrical current in the state due to the exit of the Umm Dabaker thermal station and Jabal Awliya.
For his part, Engineer Youssef Othman Al-Haila, Director of the White Nile Electricity Department, attributed the fluctuation of the electrical current to the exit of the Umm Dabaker thermal station and Jabal Awliya conversion station, which feeds the state network from the Merowe Dam, indicating that the present supply is sufficient for 10% of the state’s total consumption of 140 megawatts. This situation is inevitable. He said his administration has to create new programming for the distribution of water services and hospitals in both Kosti, Rabak, and Gezira Aba, 24 hours a day, and the residential sector, 6 hours a day.
Meanwhile, Engineer Youssef Ishaq Muhammad, Director of the Umm Dabaker Thermal Power Station, expected the station to enter service in the coming hours.
