Qatar Beats Lebanon at the Opening of the Asian Cup

The defending champion Qatar, the host team, defeated its Lebanese counterpart 3-0 in the opening match of the 18th edition of the Asian Football Cup, today, Friday, amid a large crowd of more than 82,000 fans.

After the opening ceremony, the match was held at Lusail Stadium, which hosted the historic final between world champion Argentina and runner-up France for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Akram Afif scored for the Qatar national team in the 45th and 97th minutes, and Almoez Ali in the 56th minute.
