Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
A delegation from the Government of Sudan participated in the Third World Mining Conference in Riyadh and the Ministers’ Meeting in the period from January 9-11, 2024, headed by the Director of Ariab Company, Eng. Nasr El-Din Al-Hussein, accompanied by the director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mr. Mohammed Taher and the Director of the Office of the Minister of Minerals, Eng. Ismail Khojali.
The conference was honored by more than 50 ministers, 30 agency and organization directors, more than 145 countries, and the participation of 13,000 people from all over the world.
The meeting was sponsored by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, and honored by the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al-Khuraifi, and a number of the Kingdom’s ministers, with the aim of enhancing dialogue on future minerals, investment in mining, cooperation between countries, addressing environmental issues, and attention to supply chains.
Al-Hussein addressed the meeting of mining ministers, explaining the geological map of Sudan, the extent of the spread of precious metals, how to benefit from them, and calling on companies to enter into investment while facilitating all procedures.
Nasr El-Din Al-Hussein confirmed in a separate meeting of Arab ministers that Sudan is rich in precious minerals that need financing to benefit from them. The delegation held special meetings with a number of companies, including Qatari, Australian, Maadin and Esnad Companies.
