Japan Defeats Vietnam 4-2

The Japanese national football team began its campaign in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup by defeating the Vietnam national team 4-2 – today, Sunday – in the first round of Group D.

The Japanese team took the lead with a goal scored by Takumi Minamino in the 11th minute, and Vietnam equalized in the 16th minute through Nguyen Dinh Bac.

In the 33rd minute, the Vietnam team was able to score the second goal through Tuan Hai Pham, but the Japanese team scored two consecutive goals from Minamino in the last minute of the first half and Kaito Nakamura in the fourth minute of the match.

In the second half, the Japanese team was able to score the fourth goal through Ayase Ueda in the 85th minute.

The Japanese team earned its first three points in the tournament, while the Vietnam team remained without a score.
