Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi

The production of water stations in El Fasher city declined to an average of (27) cubic meters out of a total average of (2160) due to fuel scarcity and weak production.
The Secretary-General of the Government and the Acting Governor of North Darfur, Al-Hafiz Bakhit Mohammed, affirmed his government’s interest in providing basic services to citizens in all parts of the state. During the expanded meeting with the water sector in the state, he directed the necessity of intensifying efforts aimed at providing drinking water and strengthening the plans drawn up for the water sector in the state and urban and rural water to facilitate the flow of water to ensure its provision during the coming summer season.
The meeting reviewed the challenges facing water sources and how to distribute them to the city on a daily basis, especially with regard to the issue of providing fuel to operate electricity machines to supply the city with water, in addition to the increase in the population density of El Fasher city due to the displacement resulting from the ongoing war in the country.
