A banking official at the Central Bank of Sudan has underlined that issuing of a new one thousand pounds’ banknote denomination, signed by the current governor, Bara’i Siddiq, rather than the previous governor, Yahya Janqul, was imperative, considering the current economic and security situation in the country.
He stressed in statement to Sudan Events that printing a new version of an existing denomination is a routine practice within the jurisdiction of the Central Bank and is not something extraordinary.
