Angola’s Petro Atletico Club celebrated the 44th anniversary of its founding, which falls on January 14, 1980.

During the career of Petro Atletico, Al Hilal’s Sudanese rival in the current edition of the African Champions League, he won 37 championships at the local competition level, won the Angolan League title 17 times, won the Angola Cup 14 times, and became the Super Cup champion 6 times.

At the African level, the Angola champion reached second place and runner-up in the African Confederation Cup in 1997, and also reached the semi-finals of the African Champions League twice.

Angola’s Petro Atletico leads the third group of the African Champions League, whose matches will resume next February 23, when the Angola champion will be a guest of the Sudanese champion at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in the Libyan city of Benghazi.
