UNICEF Supports Hospitals and Shelters

Khartoum State has received a UNICEF support in response to Khartoum’s call to help those affected by the war.
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, said that UNICEF support will enhance health emergency efforts in the areas of childhood services, pointing to its previous support in providing water purification materials, stressing that international organizations have a major role in providing support during the war period.
He added “We hope that UNICEF’s efforts will continue in the field of health, education, and water”. The governor directed the Ministry of Health and Municipalities to deliver the received materials to those in need.
Director General of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qaim, praised the diversity and advantages of the assistance, equipment, and devices sent by UNICEF, and commended the organization and its stand with the state in providing aid to health centers, midwives, hospitals, and shelter homes, stressing their keenness to properly use the material provided by UNICEF.
He further said, “We hope that the support will include other localities within the state.”
It is worth noting that UNICEF’s support included medicines, medical equipment, educational aids, shelter covers, and nutriment to treat malnutrition.
