Kasala: Change and Services committees, Dissolved

Kasala – Sudan Events

The Acting governor of Kasala, Mohammed Musa Abdul Rahman, has issued Decision No. (7) of 2024, dissolving all Change and Service Committees in all neighborhoods, villages, marketplaces and industrial areas.
The decision required local executive directors to inventory all fixed and movable assets until steering committees are formed.
He also called on executive directors to form steering committees in all neighborhoods, villages, hamlets, markets, and industrial areas, with not less than five people and not more than nine for each committee.
The decision established principles and criteria for selecting members, including that the member must be of Sudanese nationality by birth and permanently resides in the neighborhood, village, or community, and that the member of the marketplace and industrial zone committees must practice a profession or commercial activity that qualifies him for membership in the committee, and that he must have a good reputation and not have been convicted of a crime affecting honor and honesty. The member must not be less than 18 years old, and must not have participated in membership in previous committees in accordance with the decision.
He directed that the representation of youth, women, veterans, alert supervisors, imams, and preachers be taken into account when forming the committees, as the case may be, and that the discharge and assignment of membership should take place within (72) hours from the date of issuance of the decision.
The Governor directed the General Secretariat of the state government, local executive directors and relevant authorities to take all measures for implementing the decision.
