Sudan: Removal of Russian Investment Obstacles

The Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibriel ibrahim, has pledged to remove all obstacles facing Russian investment in the Sudan, promising to address the obstacles facing the work of the Russian Nayer Mining Corporate (the company that owns the largest Gold Mining Company in Sudan) to become a role model for investment in the mining sector in Sudan.

During his meeting with the Head of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Business, Nikolay Fitch, as part of his visit to the Russian capital, Moscow, which began two days ago, in which he met with several official bodies to discuss strengthening economic and political relations between the two countries, the Minister of Finance sent an invitation to the Chamber to visit Sudan, and they discussed the opportunities available to Russian investments in Sudan, particularly in the industrial sectors.

For his part, the Head of the Russian Chamber stressed the strategic importance of Sudan and the historical relations in the field of business between the two countries, as well as stressing the keenness of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Business to develop relationship with Sudan, particularly the current investments in the energy and mining sectors.
