The Iraqi national team defeated Japan 2-1 today, Friday, at Education City Stadium, in the second round of the group stage of the Asian Cup, currently being held in Qatar.

The match between Iraq and Japan was attended by a huge crowd of more than 38,000 spectators.

Iraq’s double was scored by Ayman Hussein in minutes 5 and (45 + 5), while Endo reduced the difference for Japan in the minute (90 + 3).

Iraq’s score rose to 6 points at the top of the group, ensuring qualification for the final of the tournament.

While the Japanese national team’s balance froze at 3 points in the second place in the standings.
