Ministry: 5M Livestock Heads, Exported

The Acting Minister of Livestock, Dr. Hassan Al-Toum, has announced that Sudan has exported 5 million livestock heads during the past fiscal year 2023.

In a meeting with the Governor of Kasala State, Mohammed Musa, as part of an inspection tour, the Minister pledged to provide the state Ministry with everything that will help the state to improve the sector’s services, noting that Kasala State plays a major role in maximizing exports.

The Minister inspected the institutions that serve the sector, particularly quarries, due to their importance in the process of exporting animals outside the state.

The meeting discussed opportunities to benefit from the capabilities of Kasala State in the field of livestock by implementing investment projects at the sector level, particularly meat exports.

The Acting Minister has underlined that Kasala State, which possesses a significant amount of livestock, has great efforts in the field of caring for livestock and implementing a number of activities and programs related to animal health and herd protection, in addition to paying attention to shepherds and livestock owners.

The Acting Governor has meanwhile confirmed that Kasala state enjoy preferential features at the sector level and the number of exports abroad, which qualifies it to be one of the leading states in the field of livestock.
