Italian Roberto Mancini, coach of the Saudi national team, stressed the necessity of deciding qualification, when the Greens face the Kyrgyz national team, tomorrow, Sunday, in the second round of the group stage of the Asian Cup..
The Saudi team hopes to achieve its second victory after opening its campaign by defeating the Omani team 2-1, in order to reach the sixth point and qualify for the eighth final.
Mancini said, in the introductory press conference: “There is no easy match in the tournament. All matches are important, and we aspire to victory in order to ensure passage to the next round.”
He continued: “Every match has different calculations, and regardless of the opponent, the matches are difficult, because we are in a big tournament, and we must play each match in the appropriate manner.”
He added: “Who would have thought that Iraq would beat Japan? This is evidence that all possibilities are open in the tournament, so we must forget the Oman match and focus on the Kyrgyzstan match.”
He added: “I hope to achieve the cup, but this requires more work and focus, and we will do everything in our power to do so. We know the difficulty of this and the presence of many strong teams, but we will strive to focus on each match step by step.”
He explained: “The atmosphere in the camp is very positive. There is no crisis. The players are happy and we hope that this positive atmosphere will continue. I do not want to talk about this aspect again. This file has been closed.”
