Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

Federal Undersecretary of the Ministry of Livestock, Dr. Hassan Al-Toum Abdullah, has announced the signing of a contract to import vaccines issued with (ALMO) Company in order to meet the needs of the 2024 season and to contribute to increasing livestock exports.
During his visit to Gadarif and Kassala states, he stressed his ministry’s interest in the infrastructure of the quarantines and their fulfillment of international and global health requirements, and he was reassured about the progress of performance in the veterinary quarantines and herds in the two states.
He pledged to rehabilitate the Kassala quarantine and remove the obstacles facing it. He said that the Kassala quarantine is considered one of the important quarantines in the country, praising its effective contribution to the success of the 2023 export season.
He pointed out that livestock exports in 2023 amounted to approximately five million live animals, considering this a great achievement for the Ministry and an unprecedented number in the past five years, despite the ongoing war in the country. He attributed this to the great and appreciated efforts of the Ministry’s employees.
For his part, the Governor of Kassala State, Musa Mohammed Abdul-Rahman, promised, when he met with the Undersecretary (Sunday), to rehabilitate and develop the quarantines and factories in the state, while the Undersecretary stressed interest in the infrastructure of the General Administration of Animal Resources in the state so that it can play its full role in protecting the herd in the state, particularly since the state is a border country that requires more effort to prevent passing diseases.
