Eric Ten Hag, coach of Manchester United, confirmed that there is no room for underestimating any competitor before facing Newport, one of the fourth-tier clubs, tomorrow, Sunday, in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Ten Hag said in statements reported by the British news agency (PA Media) today, Saturday: “Indeed, the FA Cup is the last opportunity for us to win a title this season, so we will try to win the title.”
The Dutch coach added, “But the league is of course an important tournament because it qualifies for the Champions League.”
The Manchester United coach pointed out before a trip to South Wales to face Newport: “In the Netherlands, we also play against clubs from the lower divisions in the cup tournament.”
He added: “I know very well how a big team prepares to face a lower-tier team, and we are certainly in a position that does not allow us to underestimate any competitor, and I confirm that we will not underestimate any team.”
Manchester United is suffering this season, as it ranks eighth in the English Premier League, and has been eliminated from the Champions League and League Cup.
