Southern Port: Pledges to Simplify Procedures

The Acting Minister of the Interior, Police Major General (R) Khalil Pasha Sairin, has pledged to address all obstacles facing the facilitation and simplification of procedures in the southern port, in particular and acknowledged that there are economic goods that require close follow-up until they reach the citizen directly.

During his inspection (Sunday) of the progress of work in the southern port, which is the largest importer of goods, the Minister listened to a number of customs clearers regarding preparing the work environment and addressing the problems that hinder work and seeking to facilitate and simplify customs procedures. They called for the necessity of forming a committee to follow up the progress of procedures related to a number of other relevant parties, in addition to finding immediate solutions to return to work with the X-ray system because of its many benefits in reducing time and effort.

The Minister stressed that customs work requires speed and accuracy through the use of technology in all customs work, indicating that the visit revealed problems related to other parties that will be coordinated and cooperated with so that the citizen is not harmed. In the meantime, the Acting Minister of the Interior held a meeting with the leadership of the southern port, during which he listened to the work requirements that facilitate and simplify for citizens to clear their goods in the shortest possible period.
