Sudan Events Publishes Ministry of Labor’s Decision on Pensioners

The Ministry of Labor and Administrative Reform has issued a decision regarding addressing the conditions of workers who retired with a pension and completed the retirement age, starting from the first of January 2023 until the end of the year and at the beginning of January 2024, by stopping their wages immediately from the date they reach retirement age, in light of the circumstances that the country is going through.
The Decision, a copy of which was received by Sudan Events, stipulated that those concerned be granted their pensions according to the pension in effect before the issuance of Cabinet Resolution No. (35)/2023 regarding improvements. The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning grants workers in federal units improved pensions according to the grades of the scale approved by the Cabinet Resolution No. 35 of 2023 regarding improving pensions for retirees on 01/01/2024.
The Decision approved that the National Pensions and Social Security Fund deduct improvements when the pension settlement work begins.
The Decision said that with regard to end-of-service benefits, payment is made according to the percentages and schedule prepared and approved by the Ministry of Finance for the federal units.
The Decision stipulated the suspension of all contractors whose contracts had expired, their contracts not being renewed, and the cancellation of all contracts that were not issued by the Cabinet and whose costs were not approved by the Ministry of Finance.
The Decision called for directing the units to send lists of retirees so that the competent authorities in the Ministry of Finance and the Service Affairs Chamber can complete their procedures.
