North Darfur: Slight Increases in the 2024 Budget

The Director General of the Ministry of Finance in North Darfur State, Mohammad Musa Yahya, revealed that the total state budget amounted to (295) billion pounds, while the state’s own resources amounted to (72) million pounds, in addition to federal support in its various divisions.
The Director General added that the budget included spending at the ministries level, especially regarding workers’ compensation, goods and services, as well as non-financial assets.
Mohammad Musa reviewed the general guidelines that accompanied the preparation of the budget, which included paying attention to the main sectors of health, education, water, and social care, stressing that the state government will pay great attention to these sectors at the current stage. He acknowledged that the budget had witnessed slight increases so as not to affect the livelihood of the state’s citizens.
The Director General pointing out that the budget was drawn up under exceptional circumstances, but it is flexible in order to keep pace with all the changes that may occur during the next stage, especially after the establishment of peace, in order to address all the negatives of the previous period.
