Essam Al-Hadary, the Syrian national team goalkeeper coach, confirmed that he will not have a successor on the field, after he retired from football.
“There may be someone better than El-Hadary, but there is no successor like Abu Trika. He is only one, and so is Mohamed Salah.” Essam El-Hadary said during a phone call on CBC.
Essam El-Hadary is coaching the Syrian national team’s goalkeepers, within the technical staff of Argentine Hector Cuper, the former coach of the Egyptian national team.
El-Hadary had trained national team goalkeepers as part of Carlos Queiroz’s coaching staff, and was present in the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, in which the team lost the title to Senegal in the final match.
