IGAD Demands Sudan to Unfreeze its Membership

Informed sources at the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC told  (Ultra Sudan) that Al-Burhan is thinking these days on a request submitted by IGAD for Sudan to unfreeze its membership in
the regional Organisation. The sources said that the decision wasn’t welcome the TSC members and effectivel ministers in the Sudanese political scene, noted that IGAD  biased in it’s objectives followed its hosting at the sideline of the Summit the Commander of the rebel , Hemediti .
A former diplomat in the African Union AU told “Utra  Sudan” that the Sudanese government is studying from its headquarters in Port Sudan and the Red Sea a request from the Intergovernmental Authority for International Development (IGAD) to lift the freeze on its membership in the regional organisation and enroll in negotiation to stop war.
An envoy from the President of Djibouti, head of the current period of IGAD, visited the city of Port Sudan, a couple weeks ago, to deliver a letter to the Commander of the SAF and the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC ,Lt. Gen.Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
The diplomatic source explained to “Ultra  Sudan” that the Sudanese government, to participate in the first session of Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, studied the possibility of lifting the freeze on Sudan’s membership in the Intergovernmental Authority for International Development (IGAD).
This came according to some conditions delivered by the organisation that may find response  to some of the them .The source said .

Specialized researchers from the African Center for Justice and Peace Studies contacted 41 reliable sources in various locations in Darfur and issued a report on the testimonies of survivors, eyewitnesses and relatives of the abductees. The report came out after three months of research from May to July 2023. The eyewitnesses voluntarily provided their testimonies with the full knowledge that their names would be kept for their safety. The report identified a series of violations that constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity. It also highlighted various forms of violations including kidnapping, enforced disappearance, torture, rape, cruel and degrading treatment and forced prostitution.
The report added that since the outbreak of the war, 450 missing persons have been announced, but the announced statistics for missing women and girls began in June 2023, with 18 published.
According to the report issued in June 2023, the media reported that the Sudanese Group for Victims of Enforced Disappearances had officially reported the disappearances based on the list of missing persons. The report by the African Center for Justice and Peace Studies came out with some recommendations that urged the armed movements, civilian administrations, and Darfur Ceasefire Initiatives to contribute.
