Sudanese pound deteriorates due to the internet shutdown

Despite the internet outage in Sudan, banking applications (Bankak) are used for cash transfers among customers, especially outside Sudan, while some have complained about the vulnerable taking advantage of the internet outage crisis and raising interest rates on bank transfers, which has led to a deterioration in the value of the Sudanese pound against foreign currencies. Following the recovery that the pound witnessed before the internet and communications blackout, it rebounded against the Egyptian pound to reach 18 pounds, but it quickly deteriorated to reach 23 pounds against the pound.
While the dollar exchange rate in the parallel market today, Saturday, exceeded 1,200 pounds for sale and 1,190 pounds for purchase.
Gulf currencies witnessed a continuous rise, as the price of the Saudi riyal reached 317 pounds, the Emirati dirham reached 322 pounds, and the Qatari riyal reached 320 pounds.
