Real Madrid announced, on Sunday, the nature of the injury to its English player, Jude Bellingham, which he suffered during the 4-0 victory over Girona, on Saturday, in the 24th round of La Liga.

Bellingham was injured after a collision with Pablo Torre, a Girona player, and was unable to complete the match, so coach Carlo Ancelotti brought on his colleague Ibrahim Diaz instead, in the 57th minute.

“After examinations conducted by the Real Madrid medical team today, our player Jude Bellingham was diagnosed with a severe sprain in his left ankle, and his return depends on the extent of his recovery.” In this regard, an official statement from the Royal Club said.

For its part, the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that Bellingham’s absence will be at least two weeks, which means he will be absent from facing Leipzig in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, while the English international will seek to catch up in the second leg.
