Chad officially requested an apology from the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but the latter refused. As a result, the Chadian government expelled diplomats and soldiers from its territory, which is still a moderate position that takes into account good neighborliness.
This is because the Chadian government could escalate further, or take extreme positions towards Sudan. But realistic and futuristic readings dictated this moderate position.
Despite the fact that the Sudanese army, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and many social media activists and journalists loyal to the SAF and the defunct Salvation regime, they are still heaping accusations and insults against Chad, without providing any reliable evidence or documents.
Chad did not take any action that would complicate the lives of Sudanese on its territory, even those who remained without official residency. It has also not stopped receiving refugees, some of whom are still arriving, including members of the regular forces, which information indicates that their number exceeds three thousand soldiers and officers, particularly the SAF.
This is because entire units and factions had surrendered themselves, some with full equipment, to the Chadian army, and are still present in Chadian territory.
finally:
Under the leadership of the young president, Mohamed Idriss Deby, Chad appears more capable of dealing wisely with the issues it faces, particularly the internal issues related to neighboring countries.
The referendum on the constitution seemed necessary and paved the way for a new era, especially since it intended to rule out federalism, which in Chad’s current situation is nothing more than a trap that could lead to the disintegration of the country.
It is also no secret that the young president is following in his father’s footsteps in the need to maintain political and social balance to avoid possible explosions, particularly since Ethiopia’s experience in ethnic federalism has demonstrated the dangers facing the country, threatening its very existence.
At the neighborhood level, Chad is committed to equal relations with its neighbours. Away from interference that will undoubtedly bring her trouble. Particularly since it neighbors countries that are still turbulent, anxious and potentially explosive, such as Libya, Sudan, Central Africa, and Niger.
Chad is surrounded by volcanic countries that, with their internal complexities, cannot tolerate being involved in their problems or attracting their hostility.
