US Calls for a Civilian Transitional Comprehensive Government

US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly Fee said that the current conflict in Sudan will not be resolved militarily.
The American official met in Addis Ababa, accompanied by the US Ambassador to Khartoum, John Godefrey, with many women’s groups and civil society organizations, and a discussion took place on the situation in Sudan and developments in the war, that has entered its tenth month.
Molly said in a tweet on X platform yesterday Tuesday that she met representatives of groups of Sudanese women local community affirming continuation of the US support to full participation of women in the rule.
She added, “There is no acceptable military solution to the Sudanese conflict, and a comprehensive transitional civilian government must be formed after the conflict.”

The meeting discussed the continuation of the war and its effects on civilians, particularly women and children.
It also discussed the role that Sudanese women can play in stopping the war and supporting efforts.
Molly also affirmed the need to raise the percentage of women’s representation in the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces “Taqaddam.”
