Energy Announces the Oil Blocks Ready for Investment

The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Muhyiddin Naeem Muhammad, called on the Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC) for more cooperation and expansion in oil production work, promising to overcome obstacles so that the company can increase its business in the country, announcing a number of oil blocks ready for investment in the east, north and center of the country. He stressed that Sudan is rich in oil, gas and various minerals, praising during his meeting with the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires the role of China in cooperation with Sudan in the oil sector.

He stressed the importance of continuing cooperation with Sudan and South Sudan until the roles are integrated and common interests are shared by all parties, as they are the largest oil producing companies in the two countries.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the work of the Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC), which operates in Sudan and South Sudan, and the meeting reassured the flow of South Sudanese oil through Sudan in light of the ongoing war.

For his part, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires promised to cooperate to overcome difficulties and coordinate with various Chinese companies, especially the Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC), pointing to the position that Sudan occupies economically among African countries and stressing the strength of Sudanese-Chinese relations.
