Burnley coach Vincent Kompany, competing in the English Premier League, said on Thursday that midfielder Aaron Ramsey’s season has ended after he suffered a knee injury in a 5-0 loss to Arsenal.

According to Reuters, Ramsey (21 years old), who played 14 league matches with Burnley this season, left the field on a stretcher an hour after playing in last Saturday’s match. “Unfortunately for us,” Kompany told reporters. He is in a bad situation as we expected. The season is definitely over. He probably won’t be involved for most of this year. “It’s a bit of a blow for him but it’s part of his career so we will support him as best we can.”

Burnley, the second-to-last place in the league, will visit Crystal Palace next Saturday.
