International Joint Statement on Ukraine War’s Second Anniversary

On the second anniversary of the Ukraine conflict, the embassies of France, Germany, Poland, and Ukraine in Cairo have collectively condemned the escalation that began with Russia’s invasion in 2022, a move that shattered European peace and global stability. The statement highlighted the war’s roots in Russia’s 2014 actions, including the occupation of Crimea and the invasion of Donbas, underscoring a long-standing pattern of aggression.
The embassies reaffirmed their united stance against Russia’s breach of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, extending their solidarity to the Ukrainian people who have shown remarkable resilience in the face of adversity.
The statement also pointed out the far-reaching consequences of the conflict, which extend beyond Europe, threatening international law, disrupting the global order, and jeopardizing worldwide food security—a concern that notably affects Egypt among other nations.
By standing with Ukraine, the embassies emphasized their commitment to upholding the principles of international law, not only in support of Ukraine but also as a crucial framework for resolving global conflicts, including the situation in Gaza. This joint declaration reflects a broader commitment to maintaining peace and stability by adhering to international norms and regulations.
