The Roads, Bridges and Water Drains Authority announced the near completion of the first phase of the rehabilitation of the Western Nile Road and Wadi Sedna Al-Haqna. The Director General of the Authority, Engineer Mukhtar Omar Saber, Director, said that the Authority will immediately begin implementing the plan drawn up for the next three months in accordance with the prepared executive program, which includes four axes, represented by completing the remaining asphalt mix works for the Western Nile Road, cold mix works for the maintenance of a number of internal roads in Bakary, work of shoulders to protect the Western Nile Road campus in the markets in the areas of the island, Aslang, Al-Sarorab, and Al-Badouba. Adding, rehabilitating and maintaining the slides in Hillat Al-Bir, Al-Delilab, Al-Wadi Al-Akhdar, and Goz Nafisa, in addition to maintaining and rehabilitating the machinery and providing the necessary equipment to meet the works.
