A Former Ambassador Calls for Partnerships in the Petroleum Sector

The former Sudanese ambassador to India, Dr. Hassan Al-Talib, confirmed China’s ability to secure the cost of rebuilding the oil sector in Sudan, which the Oil Minister estimated at $5 billion and on better terms than other countries. He said that China knows the nature of Sudan, has political independence, and also has good infrastructure in the production areas and in the south, the presence of the conveyor line and export ports, in addition to investments in neighboring areas such as Chad.
He indicated in his speech to (Al-Ahdath) that China has a strategic vision through the Silk Road & Belt, which connects it to the ports of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea and passes through Djibouti and Port Sudan.
While a partnership (consortium) could be established in which China participates with India and Malaysia, which are among the countries with oil investments in the country.
He added that the Ministry of Energy should think about environmentally friendly projects such as solar energy, manufacturing solar panels, and manufacturing storage batteries whose mineral raw materials are available in Sudan.
Pointing out the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Mining to produce these important materials for technologies such as lithium, graphite, copper, and others, which China can invest in without hesitation as the largest country for producing solar panels and electric car batteries.
