On Saturday, the English club Liverpool requested, in an official letter to the Egyptian Football Association, that Mohamed Salah, the leader of the Pharaohs and the Reds star, be exempted from the Egyptian national team camp scheduled for this month of March.
The Egyptian Federation announced in a media statement that Liverpool requested that Salah continue to complete his rehabilitation program after the renewal of the posterior muscle injury he suffered during the last African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Egyptian Federation confirmed in its statement that the issue of summoning any professional player is an inherent right of the technical staff led by Hossam Hassan at the time of the international agenda, and that it is still too early to resolve the matter.
The Egyptian Federation indicated that it will adhere to Salah’s inclusion if he participates in any match before the international break during this month in order to determine the extent of his readiness on the part of the Egyptian national team’s medical staff.
The Egyptian national team is preparing to play the New Zealand match on March 22 in the Emirates as part of a friendly tournament that will witness another match against Tunisia or Croatia on the 26 of the same month.
