When BBC plays with Words: the distorted Picture of the War on the Sudan

M. Jalal Hashim

As usual and expected, the discussion is engineered in a way that the current war on the Sudan to be viewed reductionistically as a war between two military forces, namely the SAF and the RSF Janjaweed Militias. The fact that it is a war on the Sudan and Sudanese people and directly against the existence of the institution of the Nation Statehood in the Sudan is completely ignored. The reality on the ground clearly proves that wherever the RSF Janjaweed militias are transforming the areas that under their control from the order of State to sheer chaos, while the counter force to this is the SAF as it has maintained its status as part of the order of State in the RSF Janjaweed militias free areas. While the RSF Janjaweed militias are targeting civilians wherever villages, towns and cities they maraud, blundering, looting, systematically raping women and girls and sporadically killing townspeople, villagers and whom ever they chance, the SAF cannot be accused of a single such action.this is a war between stately and lawfulness against statelessness and lawlessness.
While the international silence and negligence to this war is simply a matter of complicity, the regional involvement is clearly biased, siding with the RSF Janjaweed militias. This be so, the only logic behind it all indicates that both the RSF Janjaweed militias and the regional players are all launching this war in proxy of international powers that want to set their hands on the resources of the country even if this can be achieved at the expense of the Sudan as an independent, souvergein state. Unfortunately the Sudanese political and civil society has been hijacked and tamed to a greater degree by the international NGOs, turning them into compradors working against the interest of their homeland and people.
This is what the 47 minute BBC programme of March 1st has failed to address, with all due respect to the discussants.
