The Minister of Agriculture in the North, Engineer Hussein Abdel Ghafour, promised to remove the obstacles that obstruct the irrigation methods through the fields for the agricultural projects in the Ibri unit, and to maintain the irrigation pumps in coordination with the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources and the supporting bodies. He confirmed during his tour today (Friday) the irrigated projects, accompanied by the Director of the Agricultural Development Fund, Dr. Sayed Ali Othman, the Director of Electrification of Agricultural Projects, Engineer Ahmed Mansour, the Director of the Ibri Administrative Unit, Zakaria Eid, and the Director of Agriculture in Halfa Locality, Rushdi Muhammad Ahmed, supported his ministry to increase the area of land. They visited a number of agricultural projects in the Ibri Unit to find out the progress of work during the agricultural season, as he visited the Ashmatou Agricultural Project after it was qualified and entered the season this year, and he reviewed production and listened to ambitious proposals and plans to develop agricultural work.
Praising the effort made to expand the agricultural area for the wheat crop, doubling production and making the agricultural season a success.
For his part, Director of Agriculture in the locality, Rushdi Mohamed Ahmed, praised the ministry’s efforts, expressing his thanks to the development partners in the emergency wheat project in the northern state (the African Development Bank and the FAO), which left a clear mark on the success of the winter season.
