Jibril Ibrahim: The Sudanese economy is stable so far

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Minister of Finance and National Economy, Dr. Jibril said that wars, by their nature, burn and consume money. Jibril added in his interview on Friday morning to Al Jazeera Exclusive that it is difficult to give numbers for the money that has been consumed in the ongoing war, pointing out that it is not yet time to sit down and make estimates by experts.
Jibril denied that the state treasury was empty of funds, but he returned to confirm that the war was taking away foreign currency reserves and had a major impact on the economic conditions in the country.
However, contrary to what is expected, the Sudanese economy is coherent so far, with limited erosion of the local currency. However, there is a great deal of cohesion.
The Minister of Finance indicated in the interview that the Rapid Support Forces RSF stole 2.7 tons of gold and 9 tons of silver, in addition to $350 million.
