The case of former Brazilian and Barcelona star Dani Alves will witness a new development Next Tuesday, which may lead to his release.
The Barcelona court will hold a hearing next Tuesday to decide whether to release Dani Alves or keep him in prison, after his defense requested his release until his conviction for raping a young woman becomes final.
According to judicial sources, the hearing is scheduled to be held in the Barcelona National Court, to determine whether the former Barcelona and Brazilian national team star will receive temporary release or not.
The court had issued a 4-and-a-half-year prison sentence against Alves (40 years old) on charges of raping a young woman in a nightclub in Barcelona on the night of December 30, 2022.
The Barcelona National Court also ruled that Alves should spend 5 years under supervision after his release from prison, and obligated him to pay compensation of 150,000 euros to the victim and prohibit contacting or approaching her for a period of 9 and a half years.
