Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique made a clear threat to Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi, the right-back of the French team.
In a press conference held on Saturday in preparation for the match between Montpellier on Sunday in the French League, “I do not agree that Hakimi’s level fluctuated this season, and his performance differed after the African Cup of Nations.” Enrique said.
“Hakimi has been performing consistently throughout the season. He is a player with great potential, which is only available in a very small number of players in the same position.” He added.
“I do not try to compliment the best players, but rather I always ask them to provide the best level, and at the same time I am keen to protect them.” The Spanish coach continued.
“Hakimi is having a wonderful season, but he is a smart player, and he knows very well why he does not participate in some matches.” The coach of Saint-Germain hinted.
“He is an active player on the offensive level, but he still needs to improve his level, and I am very confident that he will improve.” Luis Enrique continued.
“And if Achraf Hakimi does not improve, he knows very well what will happen to him.” Enrique emphasized.
