Demanding grace period for the banned companies

Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

The head of the Gum Arabic Exporters Division at the Chamber of Commerce, Ahmed Al-Anan, revealed that the decision to ban companies was issued to include 24 gum companies, of which 10 are considered among the most active companies.
In his speech to (Al-Ahdath), he acknowledged the necessity of adhering to the laws of the banking system and attributed this to the fact that it is a part of the economy. However, he demanded that both parties (the banks and the banned exporters) to reach solutions satisfactory to both parties, and he suggested giving the banned companies a period of no less than three months to supply the proceeds. He justified this because most of the banned companies went through harsh conditions during the war.
He emphasized the Sudanese economy’s need for exports not to stop with the need to commit to supplying the proceeds, “The matter requires cooperation between all export partners from the Ministry of Commerce, banks, specifications, customs, taxes, zakat, shipping companies, and export companies.” He added.
