Barcelona’s secret of hiding the reason for Cancelo’s exclusion

Spanish press reports revealed, on Wednesday, the secret of FC Barcelona hiding the health condition of Portuguese star Joao Cancelo.
Barcelona doctors had suspected that Cancelo was suffering from a hereditary heart condition, due to one of his relatives being exposed to the same condition, so he was excluded from the Atletico Madrid match in the 29th round of La Liga.
According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Barcelona did not announce the nature of Cancelo’s condition because it is a personal and sensitive matter, and is related to the player’s confidentiality, especially since it is linked to the illness of a member of his family.
The Spanish newspaper indicated that the medical protocol requires the technical staff to exclude any player who has a suspected heart injury.
The newspaper explained that Barcelona contacted Manchester City about conducting heart tests on Cancelo, as the player has a contract with the English club.
Mundo Deportivo stated that the results of various tests and analyzes had already appeared, and confirmed that Cancelo did not suffer from any heart problems, and therefore he was still fit and able to play football professionally.
