Sudan celebrates Arab Standardization Day

The Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining celebrates Arab Standardization Day, which falls on the twenty-fifth of every year.
While Sudan set the slogan “Standardization for a prosperous economy and a vibrant and sustainable society.”
The Director General of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, Rahba Saeed Abdullah, considered the celebration an annual Arab demonstration to spread awareness and introduce the importance of standardization in various aspects of life.
Emphasizing the pivotal role that standardization plays in promoting economic growth, improving the quality of products, increasing their competitiveness, facilitating their flow, and reducing technical obstacles to trade through mutual recognition of conformity and accreditation certificates.
It has shown that standardization contributes to strengthening vital societies by providing the best practices that enable better cooperation among members of society in all areas of life such as education, public health, infrastructure, communications and innovation.
She renewed the commitment of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization to carry out its main roles in protecting the consumer and the economy, in addition to strengthening its role in serving society during the war by carrying out social responsibility activities towards those affected and the displaced, announcing the initiative to continue the educational process for children in shelters in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Guidance in Kassala State.
Praising the efforts of those working in the field of standardization and partners from government and private agencies and the media in spreading the culture, applying specifications and standards, and preserving consumers’ rights.
